S'Roasteds - Jan 20th
January 20th, 5:30-8
Roasting! When you ask a farmer how to eat a vegetable, they will say “raw, sauteed, or roasted.” The oven is a magical tool for transforming our food into a golden-brown delight, but it can also be a little tricky to figure out how long, how hot, and how to keep things from drying out.
I think every omnivore should know how to make a solid roast chicken. So that is what we’ll do in the class. We are going to tackle the full bird - break it down, brine it, and roast it!
Once that is in the oven, we’ll smash some potatoes and learn how to treat a full cabbage like a piece of meat and braise it in a spiced tomato sauce!
If you only have time to take two classes - sauces and s’roasteds really go hand-in-hand!
(please forgive the title of this class, I was grasping onto the s-word theme!)
What will make:
Roast Chicken
Braised Cabbage
Smashed Potatoes
This class will be held at a private residence in Efland, NC (just a quick 25-minutes from both Chapel Hill and Durham). You’ll be sent the address after purchase.
Feel free to reach out with any questions! erin@seedandsalt.com
