Blank Canvas Cooking - Whole Series

$250.00

Each Tuesday | January 6th-27th, 5:30-8p

Do you desire the skills to take a quick visual inventory of the contents of your fridge, then magically whip together a nourishing meal? Then wouldn’t ya know, this is the class for you!

Once you’ve learned a few key cooking fundamentals, you’ll come to find that every recipe has a “blank canvas point” - this is the basic foundation of the recipe. Quiche, for example, when you boil it down to the blank canvas, is just a good crust and an egg custard - the paint colors and brushstrokes are what you add to it from there! Maybe a sharp gruyere cheese, an accent of sauteed peppers and kale… is the picture coming together?

In this series, we will learn some fundamentals of good cookin’ – knife skills, flavor dynamics, heat control, playing with textures – then we will work our way through some blank canvas recipes and learn how to paint them!(this is the metaphor, and we’re sticking with it!)

This is an in-person, four-week class that is designed to build upon itself. BUT! I know lives are busy, so each class will work as a stand-alone. Each class will wrap up with a light dinner.

Salads | January 6th, 5:30-8p

Sauces | January 13th, 5:30-8p

S’Roasteds | January 20th, 5:30-8p

Soups (& quiche) | January 27th, 5:30-8p

These classes will be held at a private residence in Efland, NC (just a quick 25-minutes from both Chapel Hill and Durham). You’ll be sent the address after purchase.
